There is a really cool girl in my nursing class. We met in Nsg 1, but I didn't get to know her very well until Nsg 2. She and I did our respiratory therapy rotation together. Romeka is so laid back--she's like the opposite of me. She's got a very dry sense of humor (which is probably why I like her so much)--she cracks me up!
Today at clinical, Romeka was going over her doctors' orders for her care plan and she suddenly read, "Hold hand 8 hrs q day." Now I know that our patients at this facility are often maximum care patients, but I never dreamed a doctor would write an order for hand holding!
As it turned out it was pitiful doctor handwriting and the order was actually to hold a certain med for 8 hrs, but the look on Romeka's face when she thought she was going to have to go hold her pt's hand for 8 hrs was priceless!!!!!
I think everyone needs a Romeka in their life--especially if you're going through nursing school! She makes things so much lighter!

Sounds like Maria's story--she said she and a nurse were trying to figure out what the doctor had ordered. She told the nurse, "You start reading from that side, and I'll start reading from this side; maybe we can come up with something." MOM
