Okay, this time it's for real!

Everybody, meet Trevor. Trevor, meet everybody. This time, he's really my dog and my dog for keeps.

I already told you all that Dave and I decided to get a dog this summer. Well, I was at church yesterday at a ladies' meeting and I mentioned that I wanted a dog, specifically a lab. I just didn't have the money to pay for one. I can't see paying hundreds of dollars for a dog. One of the ladies over heard me say that and said someone in her family had some lab puppies that they were trying to sell. She thought that they had one left. She called them right then and sure enough, they had one black lab puppy. Now when I say puppy, he's 5 months old on May 1st. He's full Lab and he's beautiful!

I went and got him today and he's great! He's definitely still a puppy. He's about knee-height on me and VERY hyper. Oh yeah, and he's really really hyper. Did I mention that he's hyper?

He's a chewer and a car chaser, so we're gonna have to work on that, but I'm so excited! He has a really long tongue. I played with him for a while this afternoon and he's so funny.

When I first brought him home, I put him on the leash and walked (or should I say ran) him around the house so he'd know where he was. He walks himself! He picks up his leash in his mouth and holds it as you walk/run. It really is funny.
I'll post pictures over the next few days! Stay tuned dog lovers (and Momma)!

You're right--he has a long tongue. That was the first thing I noticed about him when I saw the picture. Good luck getting him not to chase cars. Do you have a plan for breaking him of that? That was not very nice to put me in a category by myself; I don't hate dogs. MOM
