Trevor's first day of school!

Yesterday, I took Trevor to obedience school. We go every Monday evening for 8 weeks. He was the only boy dog there (2 girl dogs). The class was nice and small and the teacher is good. We started on getting our dogs to know when they've done right, what to do to deter them from jumping up (and I tried to today and its working), and some basic concepts. Next week, we're going to learn either how to get them to walk with us on a leash, how to stay or how to lie down, I don't remember which she said. Any of those is fine.
Overall, Trevor was good. He started barking a couple of times and the teacher shot him with a water bottle. It calmed him down quickly. He's much bigger than the other dogs, so they played together better without him. He's so clumsy and has no idea that he's way bigger than them.
I've been working with him today on the things we started. He's catching on pretty quickly. After going yesterday, I am reassured that putting him in school is the best thing.
I'll keep you all informed and then some of you will be able to see for yourselves soon enough the positive influence of obedience training.

Stay tuned...
