Okay, so I know its been like forty forevers since I've posted, but those of you who have been or are in nursing school understand why.
The last thing I posted as far as school went was venipuncture (which was day 1 of class). Sorry about that. Let me write you a novel and catch everyone up on what's up with me.
After venipuncture, we went on to integumentary (1 class) and then a series of classes on respiratory. When test time rolled around, I wasn't as prepared as I thought I was and came out with a 76 on the test. Talk about devastation! I was mortified. But I resolved to do better on the next test. It was respiratory as well. I thought I had a really good handle on that material, but lo and behold, I got another 76. I wasn't liking the theme that was beginning. I'm not a C student. I never have been and I had no intention of starting now. So after hours of study and episodes of sitting in my clinical instructors office crying my eyes out, she told me to study my pathophysiology more than I was before. I resolved to do what she told me to do (after all, she makes out part of the test), and the next test, which was endocrine and diabetes (typically the hardest test we take), I made a 96!!!!! Hooray! I'm back to A's. I also got my first care plan back this week and made a 91 on it! She told us that A's were few and far between on the first care plan, but I worked my tail off and got one!!!
I've also been sick lately too. I have self-diagnosed myself with acute tracheobronchitis. That was on my midterm this past week and as I was studying it, I thought, "Wait, that's what I have". Thank you Rhonda, I'm feeling much better; I just have a lingering cough. Unfortunately I gave whatever I had (and then some) to Leslie and she's now laid up in the bed with it.
Wow, my novel is really short!!
School has been all consuming and exhausting. Sometimes it seems no matter how hard I work, I can't get ahead. Lately, things have been improving though.
Its been a long time since I finished a week saying, this was a great week, but I'm proud to say that this week has been really good.
We get our midterm test back monday, but I think I did okay on it. I'll let you know.
Overall, I can't wait to get out of Nursing 2--it stinks!!
Thank you to my cheerleaders who know more in detail what all has happened over the past month. I understand why there is a nursing shortage--nursing school beats you to death! Thanks for your encouragement that helps me dust myself off and get back in the ring. (Is that a mixed metaphor Mom?)
For all of you who have stuck through this drought of blogging--thank you. For those of you who quit reading (and won't hear me say this)--shame on you!
Stay tuned...

Nursing school by itself is enough. Sorry you had to be sick in addition to it. Glad you're over your "tracheobronchitis". Hang tough. You're doing great.
Yes, that's a mixed metaphor. You should have gotten back in the saddle. ;) It's good to see that you have time to blog again. Love you, MOM
Good to see you back! I've missed you very much. Please write as you can (and I'll do the same!) --
Love you! (See you soon?)
